This album I made a bit different, as there is a surprise element in this book that I thought would be needed. It is at the end, so we will go through the other pages first. This album is for a lady that had triplet baby girls. WOW! Isn't that so cool!! I wanted to definitely make sure there was plenty of places for photos and lots of journaling. On the cover, I thought the 'ABC x 3' was so appropriate, and it was well received. The letters are dimensional and the 3 has been matted and popped up to accent that number. I used wide pink polka dot ribbon as the closure.
The tie closure
The spine. It's a very wide one for this album, as I needed the extra large spine space. A few of the ribbons that were used in the album tied up in cute bows and also holds a jeweled giraffe. The lady that ordered the album only said she would like animals as the theme.
A little closer look at that adorable bejeweled giraffe.
Inside cover and page 1. I left the inside cover plain except for the patterned paper I used for all the inside of the cover. Page 1 has a handmade large envelope with a large mat/tag inside.
Page 1. The envelope flap is held closed by the stationary ribbon. Just slip the flap out from under the ribbon and it is open to show the large mat/tag inside. The paper is so cute, it's a sparkly fluffy cloud pattern so I thought I would also add a 'fluffy' sheep to dress up the envelope a little more.
Flap back in place under the ribbon. There is a huge top load mat/tag in each and every page. I wanted to show one slid out a ways. Perfect for pictures and or journaling.
Pages 2 & 3. Lots of inter-action here.
Page 2. A pretty pull bow on the first flap..
Flap opened and it shows a corner bottom pocket which holds a large tag booklet (which I forgot to take a photo of).
A closer look at that pocket flap with the large tag booklet adorned by a cute white ribbon.
Pocket flap open exposes the main page which has a nice green ribbon with 2 bottom stops. Those stops hold 2 nice size tags/mats.
A better look at those 2 tags/mats. The ribbon is divided in half with a dimensional zebra for good measure which also goes with the pattern paper and the paper on the bottom stops.
Page 3. Note on all the pages the pink polka dot ribbon on the tops..those are the pulls for the giant top load mats/tags. On this page there are 2 pretty pockets. Each hold very useful mats/tags. The back pocket holds a large tag booklet and the front pocket decorated with a pretty pink ribbon holds 3 mats/tags.
Pages 4 & 5. Page 4 has a magnetic flap that holds a large mat/tag. On the flap is a ribbon with 3 hearts (for the triplets), each one says It's a girl. Page 5 I just love! This is a cool idea I think, It's a 'file' with a magnetic closure that holds several photo mats.
A closer look at page 4 with the hearts on the ribbon.
Open the flap and underneath is a pretty large booklet. It is held securely with the magnetic flap.
A closer look at the booklet with a popped up sentiment that says "You are my sunshine".
Page 5. This is just too cool. This is a stationary file, once the small magnetic flap is opened, you can remove several pink matted photo mats. This file has a 1/4" gusset so it will hold a lot of photos!! The ribbon can remain tied or untied either way to open the file.
Small flap opened and some of the photo mats I pulled up to show. These mats will accommodate 4x6 photos. I do my best to make sure the albums will hold that popular photo size.
Pages 6 & 7. Page 6 has one of my all time favorites a "Waterfall". This one will hold 15 4x6 photos! This album is set up to hold a ton of pictures and journaling, but with 3 babies it is going to be needed. Page 7 is a bottom corner pocket I used a decorative punch on. I also used that pretty punch on the mats/tags. These are large mats/tags.
Closer look of the waterfall. Gosh, I just love them. So much real estate in such a small space.
Page 7 up close. A cute dimensional lion watches over the photo mats. I put 3 mats along with the number 3 on this page.
See how large these mats are? Perfect to hold those 4x6 pictures and journal your heart out on the backs.
Pages 8 & 9. Inter-actives on both. Page 8 has a bottom flap that folds down... page 9 has a top flap that folds up.
Page 8 up close. The flap is adorned by pearls and a cute little alligator.
The flap folded down shows a pocket which holds a pretty pink booklet.
Here's that booklet up close.
Page 9 showing it's top flap with a ribbon and silver ducky.
Upper flap opened and on it has a pocket with a sweet little mat/tag. The base page has a bottom corner pocket with another booklet held inside. A dimensional giraffe lives at the bottom of the page and matches the ones on the patterned paper.
Pages 10 & 11. These two pages hold quite a bit.
Page 10 shows two rounded pockets. Inside those pockets are mats/tags. A pretty colorful ribbon decorates the page.
Here are the mats/tags that are being held in those 2 rounded pockets. The 3 large ones of course fit nicely in the large rounded pocket and the smaller ones fit perfectly inside the smaller round pocket.
Page 11. This page has 3 side flaps that are also 'numbered' as such. Pretty pearl numbers are on each flap. Ample space for photos and or journaling.
Flap 1 opens to show #2. Again, cute pearl number 2 rests on that flap.
Flap 2 opened and there is #3. Pearled number stands out nicely.
Flap #3 opens to show a large mat/tag adorned with a pretty ribbon. Standard photos will fit nicely on this mat and pages.
Page 12 & inside back cover.
Page 12. This page has a frilly belly band which holds a frilly booklet. At the bottom of the page you will find a pocket that holds two nice mats/tags. Ribbons and a sweet little elephant complete the page.
These are the items from the belly band and pocket.
THIS is the surprise! On the inside back cover I constructed an accordion file folder from chipboard. Inside are 3 pocket files with 'name tabs' so each baby can have her own. The magnetic flap is decked out in a polka dot ribbon.
Open that magnetic flap and pull the front cover open and inside you will find the 3 accordion files. Inside momentoes can be placed (such as the babies hospital bands, hospital pics and anything else mom would like to save). These are 6x6 file pockets, so they will hold several items.
A look inside. The name tabs are in place on a file mat in each folder. Notes, descriptions of the momentoes or just journaling can be recorded on the mats. When finished, the flap will snap closed with its magnet.
So, you see why I had to make the spine larger.... to hold that accordion file folder. I suggested to the buyer to store it standing up with that file folder, so it wouldn't stress out the last page in the album. She was super happy with the album (so much so she ordered another album with another theme), which makes me very happy! I love knowing my creations make folks happy! Makes me day every time.
Please stop back again, as I have more creations I will be posting just as soon as they receive them. I welcome any and all comments, so feel free my friends. Again, thanks for taking your time to check out my creations and my blog, I appreciate it.
This is just awesomeness!!! You Rick!
