Army Album (special order)

I'd like to share today the completed Army Album I did for a customer special order. The customer wanted it to be masculine of course, and able to hold a lot of pictures and journaling. This album is an 8 x 8 and jammed packed. I delivered it today and she loved it! Her son is in the Army and she is a very proud Army mother. I was so happy to be able to create something she is proud to display her sons pictures in and give to him for a keepsake. I love making one of a kind creations..... and it does my heart good to see the reaction when the customer gets their 'special order'.

So, let's begin with the cover:

The cover is very dimensional and has the magnetic flap that holds it closed nicely. I used more than one paper collection to complete this album and think the papers all worked well together. Of course I wanted 'United States Army' on the cover displayed proudly, and also created a pocket that is also embellished and holds 3 patriotic tags/mats. The magnetic flap is also embellished with pop dotted stars.

Once the flap is opened, the full cover is exposed and so are the tags/mats in the pocket. There is also a military saying and a little dog tag looped around it with a silver chain. Golden metal stars sets off the pocket. The open flap also shows how it's been embellished.

The spine is adorned with matted stars and a dog tag with 'Freedom' displayed on it. Along the bottom I have embellished with 3 gold metal 'dots' (for lack of a better description).

The back I carried that same paper around. I always include my 'handmade by Brenda' stamp on my albums, and made sure to keep it simple.

Right spine I continued the gold metal 'dots' along the bottom edge. Above, there is a matted 'saying': Land of the Free...BECAUSE of the Brave!

Inside the cover and the first page as well as the back flap opened.

Inside front cover there is a pocket which holds 3 nice size tags/mats. These will be perfect to add 4x6 photos or lots of journaling. Page 1 shows a fabulous waterfall held closed with a magnetized belly band.

Close up of inside cover pocket.

The tags/mats from that pocket.

Page 1 is my favorite that I try to include in all my albums the wonderful 'waterfall'. This one is held closed by a magnetized belly band. I have embellished it with 3 dimensional stars.

Belly band opened and waterfall can be accessed to add photos. This waterfall will hold the popular size 4x6 photos.

A quick look in to the waterfall.

Belly band closed and the top load huge tag/mat is shown. All pages in this album have a top load giant tag/mat. The pulls are punched tabs.

Page 2. Inter-active elements on this page.

When the smaller booklet is opened, there is a bottom stop which holds 2 small tags/mats. The booklet will hold photos and or journaling.

The 2 tags from the bottom stop.

The booklet opened the opposite direction shows a belly band and stop which holds another small tag/mat.

Tag out of it's belly band and the other 'booklet' on the left is shown.

When the booklet is opened, a bottom stop is shown and a nice tag/mat is there with the military word:  HOOAH!! The booklet opened will hold nice size pictures or journaling.

Booklet opened the opposite direction shows more spaces for photos or journaling and embellished with a pair of army boots.

Page 3. This page is a very very inter-active page. It has 3 pockets and all three pockets hold surprises!

The bottom pocket holds a portable waterfall!

The waterfall opened, lots of pictures can be placed in it and either placed back into the pocket, or taken out and carried separately.

In the second pocket you will find a booklet. This little booklet is held closed with a magnetized belly band which is also embellished.

Inside this booklet are places for photos and or journaling.

In the top pocket there are 4 tags that have chain pulls. LOTS of space on this page alone!

Everything back in place, and the giant tag/mat is shown pulled part way out. I used the gold metal 'dots' along the bottom right to finish the page.

Pages 4 & 5

Page 4 has large tag/mat in the bottom stop. The pull is also a chain. Masculine don't you think? That bottom portion is actually a pocket, and inside that pocket is another booklet!

The tag/mat and booklet from the page. The booklet is held closed by another magnetized belly band. It is embellished with a dimensional 'property of the US Army' matted embellishment.

Inside the booklet are 2 pockets that hold 2 tag/mats each. Large mats/tags will easily hold 4x6 photos. The ample pockets, will hold additional photos.

Page 5 very inter-active. This pocket is also a nice surprise The pocket holds a beautiful tag/mat embellished with black ribbon and a metal star.

Tag/mat out of it's pocket.

Belly band opened and inside it reveals BRAVERY.

Check it out.....that small little package opens and expands times 4! Perfect little flat explosion package will hold plenty of photos and or journaling.

Closed and tucked away behind that belly band. Giant top pull tag/mat shown.

Pages 6 & 7. Get ready folks, love this one!

Page 6. This page is embellished along the bottom with those awesome golden 'dots'. The pocket holds 3 good sized tags/mats for photos and or journaling. There is also a flip booklet.

The contents of the pocket on that page.

This is the flip booklet. There is a HOOAH matted embellishment held on the front with a paper clip.

Page 7. This page has a belly band and an embellished stop at the bottom. Inside that belly band is a very cool photo holder.

This is the photo holder out of the belly band. It is embellished with a small dog tag with it's chain in tact.

Open the photo holder and it has 4 large photo mats. These are perfect for 4 x 6 pictures.

These are the photo mats from the holder.

What I love about this photo holder is the amount of pictures it's capable of holding. I am showing above, how I made a gusset at the bottom and top of the holder. That gusset will allow it to 'expand' and therefore will accommodate even more photos! Love it!

Everything back in place, the extra large top pull tag/mat shown.

Pages 8 & 9. More and more inter-actives!

Page 8. This page has 2 side pockets which both hold goodies. The bottom pocket is embellished with chain adorned dog tags which read: COURAGE  & SUPPORT THE TROOPS.

From the bottom pocket are 3 tags/mats.

From the upper pocket you will find 3, yes 3 booklets! This album will hold so so many photos, the customer was thrilled!

Behind the goodies you will find the 'Statue of Liberty' hiding.

Page 9 has a lot to offer. At the top, notice there are 3 tags tethered together with a chain which is threaded through an eyelet. There is also a magnetized flap with a belly band on the front and 3 small tags/mats.

The 3 small tags/mats out of the belly band. Also with the tags above swung to the side, you will see yet more nice sized tags/mats ready for photos.

Pull open that flap..and it's a booklet.

Back side of the booklet and the tags/mats shown.

These are the tags/mats from the pocket. Ample size for photos.

Everything back in place and the large top pull tag part way out.

Pages 10 & 11. Yes, more wonderful inter-actives!

Page 10 will also be a welcomed addition as it will hold several photos. Note the pull, it will expose a tri-fold booklet.

Open that booklet... nice area to add photos, but wait...

Pull that booklet all the way open and lots more space for photos! A true tri-fold booklet.

Back side of the tri-fold booklet. So much space.

Once the tri-fold is open, the corner pocket is exposed which holds 3 great sized tags/mats. ARMY STRONG emblem is popped up for dimension. Black narrow ribbon loops serve as the pulls.

Mats/tags out of their pocket.

Page 11. This page is magnetized as well because the rounded flap folds down to show what it holds.

Flap down and there are several large tags/mats under there. When the flap is closed, it hold them all securely in place.

Under those tags/mats such a strong Army quote: Believing in yourself is strong. Achieving what you never believed possible is army strong.

5 large mats/tags held in place under that flap.

Everything in it's place and the giant tag/mat pulled part way out.

Page 12 and the inside back cover.

Page 12 is another waterfall! I again used a magnetized belly band to keep it closed, with a chained dog tag as it's embellishment.

Belly band opened and it's ready for photos to be added.

Just a look into the waterfall.

Inside the back cover lives a pocket which holds 3 tags/mats and can also be used to journal on the front.

The tags/mats from the pocket. Very patriotic.

Inside the back cover and inside the right spine and flap.

Inside the right spine and front flap. There is an embellished pocket which has 3 of the gold metal 'dots'. Inside is a small tag which is removable. A black narrow ribbon loop worked out well as a pull for the tag. On the magnetized front flap, there are tags that are stationary and serve as embellishments.

I did my best to make sure this special order album would hold several pictures and places to also journal about this special army soldier. I can't wait to hear how 'he' likes this album.

Thanks for taking time to view this special album, I appreciate it. I also welcome any and all comments or questions you might have.

Stop back again soon, as I will be posting more pics of another project I am almost finished with.
