Altered Cigar Box with Mini Pocket Album (Design Team Project)

I honestly can't say enough about this Graphic 45 collection that I used on this Design Team Project for Country Craft Creations. It was one of the easiest collections to work with I've ever used and the 'collection' itself is massive! There is enough to do more than one project and I will definitely be doing another one soon. Links to the store and my youtube video will be at the bottom of the page.

This is the altered cigar box. The box is covered in the Mon Amour papers with some cut outs I fussy cut from the paper. I layered an antique doily on top of the background paper and then applied the fussy cut couple. I also fussy cut the flowers and leaves which I added even more dimension using Glossy Accents. There are dew drops on some of the flowers compliments of the Glossy Accents. Chipboard pieces from the collection I also used. More embellishments include tiny dimensional flowers, an antique pen nib, a jeweled butterfly, a metal door pull that I white washed and a heart that I also white washed. Pretty flower lace was used on the top and all around the perimeter of the box.
I papered the entire box with the gorgeous papers from the Mon Amour collection and added black cardstock to the bottom and colored the wooden feet black to finish the box. My 'handmade by Brenda' stamp is on the bottom as well.
A close up look at the box cover.

Open the lid of the box using the pretty metal door pull and you will find inside the mini album resting safe and secure. The inside of the lid I used a lacey corner punch as the base and applied some of the patterned papers. On top of the pretty papers I attached an old fashioned frame adorned with a side ribbon. Inside the frame oval I added more of the papers and then fussy cut the amorous couple and offset them on the frame. Inside the box you can see the pretty album.

A close up of the nested album.
The album out of it's box. This is the cover. It is also papered in the beautiful Mon Amour collection. I fussy cut the young lady and used Glossy Accents on the flowers on her dress. I have used some of the chipboard pieces from the collection as well as a jeweled butterfly with a black base. I thought it worked in quite well with the papers. To finish the album I used a satiny pink ribbon tied up in a pretty bow.

Open the album and inside I used more of the papers from the collection. The inside cover on the left I placed another antique doily with a pretty ribbon behind it and a beautiful chipboard piece on top. All the pieces have been inked in a vintage photo color. I matted one of the cut aparts and popped it up on the page to finish it off. On the right you see an added flap with more pretty patterned paper.
The album completely opened shows the pages in the hingeless/ waterfall format that Tammy Merrill created (she has a tutorial video on youtube showing this technique).

I made this album a pocket album, on each page there are pockets created using cut aparts I matted. Inside each pocket are tags I also created using the same procedure.

Here are the tags from the pockets. I matted them so that there is space at the bottom to add some details about the photos such as a date or name.

A look at some of the pocket pages. I made some of the cut aparts in to flip ups on the pages. These have a pretty ribbon on them.
The flip up and the tag from the upper pocket on the page.

The last page and inside of the back cover flap.

The last page I used an ephemera piece to make a larger pocket adorned in ribbon and matted in black. This pocket holds 2 longer tags with ribbon pulls.

The long tags I matted in black and left ample space for journaling and/or details.
The inside of the back flap. I used the beautiful pockets and tags that were in the collection. I added ribbons to finish the page. Love love love this collection!

The back of the back flap covered in the awesome Mon Amour papers.

I just can't say enough about this beautiful collection, it makes such a statement. Beautiful graphics and coloring, quality paper and a complete collection to say the least!

Peacock Mini Album (Special Order)

What a challenge this custom order was, but a fun challenge. It turned out so pretty and colorful, making it a bright fun creation. This is an 8x8 album with lots of inter-actives and plenty of space for lots of photos and journaling. I love making each and every album different and one of a kind, as I hope they become keepsakes for the recipients. Join me now and check out this album, I will post a link at the bottom to the walk through video on youtube. Enjoy and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them for me.

The cover of the album. I used peacock patterned paper to cover the outside of the album, the feathered paper I thought shows well and was easy to embellish. I found a very cool vintage peacock photo that I matted and adorned with a lacey seam binding ribbon and on top of the ribbon I was lucky enough to find a neat looking peacock feathered charm with beautiful peacock feathers and chains with tiny charms on them. I also double matted a sentiment that reads: "Have a Beautiful Day" and embellished that with some handmade flowers made from the pattern papers in the album. The leaves are also made from the same papers. Green jewels complete the flowers centers.

The main spine. I added several ribbons that coincide with the colors in the album. I also managed to find a cool peacock charm that has a metal peacock and a good size peacock feather that hangs nicely all together.

The back of the album as you can see the pretty peacock pattern paper.

Inside the album as it's completely open. This is a side closure album with 3 large magnets that keeps it securely closed. Using the side closure not only keeps everything neatly and securely in place, but allows the front cover to be embellished completely. Double bonus!!

Inside the front cover and page 1.

Inside front cover you will see I have used a beautiful graphic that I matted and created a pocket to hold several additives.

The pocket is embellished with a black ribbon and a brass metal peacock. I have used the brass metal peacocks throughout the album to add interest as well as fun adornments.

Look at all the mats/tags that reside in that pocket! There is a very large one, and large one, a medium size one and last but not least, a smaller one. They are all matted and area  perfect space for photos and/or journaling. The colors on these mats/tags is vibrant and beautiful!

Page 1. This page is inter-active. It's fun and pretty. Notice on the top left the brass peacock. He is everywhere. On the front flap there are 3 tickets that have been matted and hard mounted to create a matted tag holder. Black polka dot ribbon finished the tag as a pull.

The mat/tag from the ticket pocket. Such a beautiful bird the peacock is!

Open the flap and you find a removable matted fold over tag. Also upon opening the flap you find the large bottom pocket which is housing 2 large mats/tags.

Inside the fold over is another mat/tag being held in place with a bottom sentiment stop.

These are the 2 large mats/tags from the large pocket.

All pages have a super giant mat/tag with black polka dot pulls. They are all top loads. Wow, so much area for photos and/or journaling.

A close up of the brass peacock you will see throughout the album..  I really like this embellishment!

Pages 2 & 3

Page 2. This page has a side pocket adorned with a black ribbon, some sentiment tags and a dimensional brass peacock. Inside the pocket are 3 mats/tags. The base paper is beautiful with color and graphics.

The mats/tags from the side pocket. Roomy and pretty!

Page 3. This page has 2 pockets that holds a large booklet and 2 mats/tags. The brass peacock is on the top right, there is a matted sentiment that reads: "Enjoy lifes beautiful moments". I have matted and popped up the smaller square pretty embellishments to add interest to the bottom pocket.

The booklet and 2 mats/tags from inside the pockets. The tags are pretty in their coloring and graphics and I have also left space on the bottoms of them to add some info about the photo ie: date of photo, names of who is in the photo or perhaps a caption for the photo.

The booklet opened to show it has a stop with another matted tag inside.

The huge top pull mat/tag in a pretty purple. All pages have one of these giant top pull mats/tags.

Pages 4 & 5

Page 4. "You Brighten My World" is the sentiment that is matted and pop dotted on the top of the page. There is a bottom corner pocket that is lacey punched and adorned with ribbon and my favorite brass peacock. Inside the pocket are more inter-actives.

The goodies inside the pocket. There is a booklet and a pretty mat/tag.

Page 5. Isn't this a pretty pretty page! I love how this page turned out. There is a hard mounted large inter-active matted booklet of sorts. It's adorned with a black ribbon. There is of course the brass peacock and 2 hard mounted beautiful matted tags.

Open the flap and there are more spaces for photos. The hard mounted mats/tags are in full view.

Pages 6 & 7. Very very inter-active on both pages.

Page 6. This page offers lots of flips and flaps! There's the brass peacock!

Open the top flap and there are 3 colorful pretty moveable tags. Very dimensional. Under that first top flap you will find more... large pretty matted flaps to hold large photos.

Under the next flaps the base page has a side pocket that holds 2 more booklets. Behind the flaps there is plenty of space for photos and/or journaling.

The booklets out of their side pocket.

The booklets

The inside of the booklet is a matted dimensional bottom stop/pocket that holds another mat/tag.

Page 7 has the waterfall element. This is a larger one with ample space for larger photos and so much space to journal a ton! The brass peacock on the top layer could be used as a opening pull.

The enormous top pull mat/tag for this page.

Lift both the waterfall flaps and hiding under them is a bottom pocket. Lots in that sweet little pocket.

These are the mats/tags from inside that bottom pocket.

Pages 8 & 9

Page 8. On this page I used a corner punch to punch around this circle and was pleased with how it turned out. The brass peacock embellished the bottom circle pocket. Inside the pocket are 3 nice sized mats/tags.

The mats/tags from the rounded bottom pocket. These have the bottom space to journal or make notes about the photo on them.

Page 9 has a very roomy side pocket. Inside this pocket is a booklet and 2 large mats/tags. This pocket is embellished with white ribbon and a beautiful bejeweled peacock.

The huge top pull mat/tag.

A close up of the pretty jeweled peacock.

The inserts from the side pocket. A booklet and 2 mats/tags.

The very large mats/tags from the side pocket.

Page 10 & 11

Page 10. Colorful and inter-active. The brass peacock affixed on the left of the page. Moveable tags that are dimensional add interest.

Page 11. My favorite waterfall resides on this page. Held closed with the black lacey seam binding and the brass peacock in the lower right corner finishes the waterfall. Untie the ribbon and flip all the pages up and there is a pocket with even more mats/tags!

A close up of the brass peacock.

Page 12. This page is fun, there are 2 hard mounted cards that photos and/or journaling can be placed in a more private setting if you choose. There's the brass peacock and little embellies on the page.

Lift the top flap (which is held closed by tucking the flap behind the peacocks head feathers), and the bottom one is accessible.

Lift the bottom one and the insides are also decorated.

The inside of the back cover. Notice the paper covering the insides of the album....beautiful peacock feathers. Here I have used that gorgeous graphic to create a matted pocket which holds 3 mats/tags with loop top pulls.

The mats/tags from the pocket.

The inside of the right closure flap with the brass peacock.

I hope you all enjoyed this album, as it was a lot of fun to create. I love doing custom orders and challenging myself to create one of a kinds. If I can create something for you, please don't hesitate to inquire.
