Design Team Project for Country Craft Creations using Authentique Honor & Freedom Collections

What a simple challenge to combine the new Honor collection with the older Freedom collection by Authentique. These two collections came together easily and were a total pleasure to use. I also got the opportunity to use Authentiques patterned cardstock to construct the album, and loved using it so much, I absolutely used it throughout the album. What a cool idea to have double sided pattern cardstock....the uses are absolutely amazing!!!! The quality of the cardstock was more than acceptable and I would definitely use it again. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear they offer over 50+ colors & patterns! Awesome!!! Both of these collections would be perfectly suitable for military or 4th of July albums, layouts, cards or altered items in those themes; combining them makes them even more useable!

This is the cover of this 8 1/2 X 8 1/2 album. I have used the fabulous vintage cut a parts on the cover to embellish it AND to use as part of the magnetic closure. I'm sure you all recognize Uncle Sam and Rosie the Riveter. The graphics and colors are beautiful and the vintage appeal works perfectly with the collections. I have matted the cut a parts with the patterned cardstock. A roomy pocket along the bottom also holds a nice size booklet.

The booklet from the cover bottom pocket is embellished with appliqued stars on the outside and punched cardstock stars on the inside. Ample space for  photos and/or journaling.

The cut a part on the magnetic closure is also a small booklet ready for more photos and/or journaling and embellished with cardstock stars.

The spine is decorated with red/blue ribbons and seam bindings in solids and patterns along with a large metal old fashioned key and a leather postmark. More of the beautiful pattern paper from the collections.

The back of the album which I have used another of the cut a parts that I matted with the patterned cardstock and embellished the back side of the magnetic closure. My stamp that is matted can be found on the backsides of all my albums stated it is all handmade by 'me'.

The side showing the magnetic closure that is matted with the patterned cardstock.

The front cover with the magnetic closure opened showing the full front unobstructed. I used 4 of the cut a parts to embellish the cover and bottom pocket, I love how easily they worked out.

The inside cover and page 1.

The inside cover I have added a large bottom pocket that is decorated with a pretty white seam binding ribbon and a flower made from some of the scraps of pattern paper I used throughout the album. I also used pattern paper from the collections to decorate the face of the pocket. Inside the pocket a very nice size booklet resides.

The very roomy booklet from the pocket. This booklet can hold several photos and journaling. More stars cut from some of the pattern cardstock and some red cardstock.
Page 1. This page is very inter-active and offers lots of space for photos and journaling. Gorgeous papers from the collections are used in combination for this page. Red seam binding is used to embellish the top page. A magnetic closure is used to hold the large 'waterfall' in place.......yes, I created a large hidden waterfall for this page. A cool sticker from the sticker collection was used and matted twice to set off the magnetic closure and add some interest and an extra place to grasp the closure.

A huge matted top load tag with round embellished pulls can be found in all the pages. They are all matted with papers from the collections that were used throughout the album. Large enough to add several photos or a large photo and ample space to journal a ton.

Opening the magnetic closure leads to access to the hidden waterfall. Flipping those pages up finally reveals a large roomy bottom pocket that holds a booklet to add even more photos and/or journaling. So much space in this large hidden waterfall and hidden pocket.

The booklet from that hidden pocket.

Pages 2 & 3.

Page 2 has a large bottom pocket embellished with a double matted sticker from the collection. Narrow red ribbon completes the look.

The very roomy booklet from the bottom pocket. I also used some of the stickers that I matted and used to embellish the booklet. So so much space in the is album for so so many photos and journaling.

Page 3. This page has a long side pocket that has been decorated with a coordinating red seam binding. A triple matted sticker from the collection works quite well here. Inside the pocket can be found a very large matted tag.

The giant top load matted tag is partially pulled to expose and show. The bottom photo shows the large matted tag that is held inside that long side pocket. A cardstock star finishes off the large matted tag.

Pages 4 & 5.

Page 4. This page has a long side pocket that is decorated with the gorgeous pattern papers from the collections. The pocket is embellished with a fabulous blue seam binding and a stand out red cardstock star. Inside the pocket is yet another booklet. I wanted to make sure I used a lot of these gorgeous papers and provided plenty of space for many treasured photos and journaling.

The booklet from the side pocket. Very large and perfect for those larger photos. One of the stickers has been matted and used as an adornment inside the booklet.

Page 5. I love how this page turned out! Notice the striped envelope at the bottom of the page? That envelope is actually not an envelope at all........

Lift that magnetic flap and you will find a tri-fold created using the patterned cardstock! Pattern papers were added to add a break in the tri-fold and interest.

A look at the partially exposed large top load mat. This page is also embellished with the blue seam binding which works perfectly and some of the sticker stags that have been matted and narrow blue ribbon added. Once that tri-fold is opened the additive is easily accessed.

A large matted tag with the bottom journaling space stays snug and secure tucked in behind that tri-fold.

Pages 6 & 7. Lots to offer on these two pages!

Page 6. A super wide belly band made from the patterned cardstock and embellished with matted punched scalloped circles that have been pop dotted for dimension. A coordinating stopper on the bottom helps to keep the 2 large matted tags in place.

The 2 large matted tags from that bellyband.

Page 7. Another inter-active page, with lots to offer. I love making inter-actives as I think it gives the albums so much character and you never know what the turn of the next page will bring.

A view of the giant top load matted tag partially pulled to show.

Open that first magnetic flap, and you will find a bottom stop created from the a sticker from the collection that has been matted. That stop holds 2 fabulous matted tags! Lots of space in this album.

Flip that other flap and you will find the base page that has a lower corner pocket. Embellished with a sticker tag that has been matted makes the pocket stand out more. Inside that pocket resides a large matted tag with the bottom journaling spot and a cool matted tag. The tags have been 'tagged' with stars.

Pages 8 & 9. You have got to love these patterns in these collections! More inter-actives and additives!

Page 8. This page has 2 pockets that mirror each other and meet at the bottom. A cool double matted sticker joins the 2 together.

The large matted tag from this page is perfectly coordinated with the papers on that page! 2 cardstock stars finish the tag.
Page 9. This page has a huge bottom pocket capable of holding so much! Decorated with blue seam binding and narrow blue ribbon it works so well.

Aha! This booklet is magnetic and hangs over the side of the pocket and stays closed with the use of the magnet. Love it!

Pages 10 & 11.

Page 10. A magnetic flap is adorned with a matted cut a part and red seam binding. Under that flap is a bottom pocket that holds 3 large cardstock tags.

Open that flap and the 3 large tags are ready to use. The bottom pocket is large and roomy and will hold many many more tags and photos. A double matted sticker from the collection decorates the base page.

Page 11. A handmade envelope I made using the pattern paper from the collections worked out great here. White seam binding running down the side doesn't take away from the envelope but adds just a light touch of decoration. 2 cardstock stars at the bottom finish the page. The double matted sticker in the center serves to keep the envelope closed by tucking the flap just behind.

The huge top load matted tag partially pulled to show.

The large matted card inside is double sided and on the one side I have added the journaling spot along the bottom. The cool inside of the envelop can be seen showing the other side of this double sided paper I used.

Page 12 & the inside back cover.

Page 12. My all time favorite waterfall makes for the perfect last page! I love these! So much to offer in such a small space, perfect. This waterfall is kept securely closed by the magnetic bottom band. I have scored it at a 1/4" to allow for filling the waterfall with photos and journaling making the closure expandable. Papers used throughout the album was used to paper the waterfall pages.

The magnetic closure is also a booklet! Extra places for photos and journaling....as you can never have enough.

The pages to the waterfall shown and the fabulous pattern papers used.

The inside back cover mirrors the inside front cover. A large roomy bottom pocket adorned with a single handmade flower and white seam binding. Fabulous pattern paper covers the front of the pocket. Inside, another very good size booklet with several pages to accommodate yet more photos and journaling.
