Design Team Project: Altered Cigar Box & Mini Album using Bo Bunnys Soiree Collection

I am so excited to share this creation with you!! This project was for Country Craft Creations Design Team.  I LOVED working with this collection, it was so so easy to use. The colors and graphics are amazing and just plain beautiful. Feminine and delicate are definitely two words I would use to describe it. The collection is loaded with fabulous pieces that are so easy to incorporate in to any type of project, I thought they fit in perfectly.
I found a lovely old wooden cigar box at an antique mall (I haunt those malls often for pieces I can use to alter and stuff I can use to embellish my one of a kind creations. This wooden cigar box I thought was special as it has a hinged lid with a finger pull AND is dove tailed. That art is found in a lot of older wooden pieces and is beautiful, such workmanship!

The altered wooden cigar box! It is a perfect square and it was excellent for this project!! The Bo Bunny Soiree Collection was a breeze to work with and fit so nicely with the box...I love how it all finished. I used the papers from the collection on the outside and inside of the box as well as making the handmade flowers. I really like to incorporate those in as I think it ties it all together. Pearls were used as centers for the flowers and chipboard embellishments from the collection were also used on the box. Pearl laden lace was also used on the beautiful wooden box along with some simple lace I had to outline the lid. Pink narrow ribbon was looped in to coordinate with the ribbon in the key. The awesome brass key with the sweet double hearts was dressed up a bit more with a pink resin flower. Tiny pearl laden lace was placed completely around the box giving it a sweet finished look and on the front panel I placed a pretty glittered chipboard embellishment.

Opening the lid via the thumb groove, exposes the pretty insides. A sweet mini album rests perfectly inside complete with a sheer floral ribbon lift. In the lid you will find the paper embellished with some of the gorgeous pearl lace. The tiny delicate pearls on the lace is just beautiful. There is a surprise in that lid also....
That pretty piece in the middle is actually a magnetized card. It has been embellished with a glittery chipboard piece from the collection.
(Please excuse the shadow running across the card) Lifting open the card, there is another piece of ephemera from the collection that I inked and attached to serve as a tag holder.
(Again, please excuse the shadow band showing on the upper part of the card). 2 sweet little tags with green seam binding pulls tuck nicely behind the umbrella.

The cover of the mini album that fits perfectly inside the altered box. This album is packed full of additives and inter-actives! It measures 6x6 however it features a 3" spine and 12 pages full of surprises. Let's not forget the inside of the front cover and back cover also hold interactives! Lots and lots of real estate in this album. The cover is made up of hand cut chipboard and covered with Carta Bella White Linen cardstock. The papers from the collection add the beauty that makes up the album cover. I have inked everything using distress ink (Vintage Photo) and added some pretty matching seam binding in pink. A gorgeous chipboard piece from the collection provides a sweet subtle dimension. Love this paper collection!
Opening the album you immediately have fun and interaction!

The inside cover not only is covered in beautiful pattern papers, it also has a magnetized flip pocket. Inside that pocket is a matted tag with a sweet pink looped pull.
Lift the magnetized pocket to completely expose a bottom corner pocket that holds 2 awesome old time tags that are matted. Perfect places for pictures and/or journaling. Under the flap is another perfect place for a photo, such pretty pretty papers.
The goodies inside the pockets. I love leaving the area at the bottom of the tags to write perhaps the name and date of the photo that you could place on the backs.

Page 1. Yes, lots going on with this page. I LOVE LOVE LOVE making each page a surprise. Not sure what the next one holds... the element of surprise is a good thing! Again, gorgeous pattern papers in this collection, and I made this page a waterfall of sorts. The top portion is embellished with the pretty delicate pearl lace...
All pages are top load and have a generous sized pretty matted tag with matching pulls.
Lift that first waterfall flap and underneath there is an embellished side stop I made from the papers and fussy cut some of the flowers to give it more interest and dimension. A pretty matted tag is held nicely in place by that stop.
Lift the next waterfall flap and there you will find another pretty side stop holding a beautiful matted tag. Perfect places for photos. Don't you just love the base paper on this page... so so pretty.

Pages 2 & 3. More gorgeous papers and surprises!

Page 2. Such a pretty floral paper! A large side pocket adorned with the delicate pearl lace holds a nice sized booklet.
A pretty matted cut apart makes for a pretty cover on this adorable booklet. Inside is papered with a lovely floral print. Excellent places for photos.

Page 3. Does pretty even describe this page? Very inter-active on top of the fancy florals make this a stand out page. I have used my lace punch to give some depth and interest to the parts of this page and perfectly matched seam binding with some inked ephemera flowers really makes it pop. A pretty sparkly chipboard piece from the collection also adds some interest.
Lift that magnetized waterfall piece and there is a gorgeous papered place for a good sized photo. Once lifted, you will find another piece to the puzzle, a generous sized pocket in a coordinating paper and pink seam binding to accent it. See how the lace punched edge stands out especially inked. Inside the pocket...
Inside the pocket is a sweet sweet card. I love that cut a part I used on the front of the card. Inside the card is a pretty ephemera key that is also a holder for another matted tag.
Lift that flap and the underside of the flap is decorated and has a bottom left pocket. A pretty ephemera piece is matted and adds even more interest and dimension. Inside the pocket is yet another matted tag!
Love this matted tag created with one of the cut a parts in the collection.
Still on this page.....flip down the flap, and you will find more and more! On the inside of that lower flap there is a pretty pretty pocket embellished with pretty matching pink seam binding and some of the pretty pretty ephemera flowers. There is a matted old fashioned tag inside.

Once the flap is lowered, another page is shown. This page has a bottom side pocket with a side 'Remember' embellishment. Inside is a pretty matted tag suitable for a nice size photo.
Inside the pocket is this cool matted tag.

The large matted top load tag.

Page 4 & 5.  Lots more inter-actives!

Page 4. This page consists of lovely taupe colors. Keys provide the back ground for the base. Matching gorgeous taupe seam binding works perfectly and helps to hold the booklet inside the oversized pocket. The pocket has been decorated with a chipboard button piece using taupe embroidery floss. There is also a glossy Home Sweet Home brad that fits perfectly with the page.
The booklet from the pocket is actually a tri-fold. It's all papered in awesome polka dots staying with the taupe-y feel. There is a pocket papered with the keys that holds a sweet little tag. The cover of the tri-fold is an awesome cut a part.
The sweet little tag from the pocket.
Flip the tri-fold over and it is also papered and has a top stop that holds a sweet little matted tag I made from one of the stickers in the collection.

Page 5. This page consists of 3 pockets all of which holds matted tags and have coordinating round pulls. The pockets are all embellished with chipboard colored buttons from the collection. Embroidery floss is used to complete the buttons.
The matted tags from the button pockets. Cute cute cute.
The super large matted tag from the top load page.

Pages 6 & 7. More pretty florals and beautiful colors!

Page 6. Looks like a pretty subtle page......wrong! Such gorgeous graphics. On the bottom, you will note a sweet chipboard frame embellishment from the collection. Coordinating pink seam binding behind the frame completes the embellishments.
Fold down the magnetized flap and a very pretty pattern paper with a bouquet and chandelier grace that page. On the folded down flap there is a bottom side pocket that holds a cute matted tag.
I made that sweet matted tag using a cool pocket die I also got from Country Craft Creations.
Put the magnetized flap back up and lift the top of it to show it's another flap. That one has a side stop that holds a matted square tag made from pattern paper in the collection. The stop is adorned with a tiny chipboard piece from the collection.
Matted tag from the stop.
Still on the same page, lift that flap and expose a large bottom pocket. The pocket is adorned with a pretty ephemera watering can with flowers.

The pretty matted tag from the pocket with a top pull is also a tag holder. A sweet matted tag is held in place with a top stop.
Under the above flap there is also a side stop that holds a pretty pretty matted tag cut using the pocket die from Country Craft Creations also.
Love that scalloped top using that die.

Page 7. This page is enhanced with a lacey side long pocket. I love the key and flowers in that paper. That lace I had in my stash and worked out nicely with it being so narrow.
The contents of the long pocket is a cool matted tag with an old time theme, as well as a classy booklet.

The booklet is magnetized and flips open to house another matted tag in the belly band. A cute little matted sticker makes for a perfect embellishment on the belly band.
Still on page 7! Again magnetized to hold all the goodies in place, fold down the flap and you will find a long corner pocket that holds a nice sized matted tag. Cute.....Home Sweet Home in a frame..pretty.
Matted tag from pocket.
Ongoing still on the same page....fold down the flap yet again and show the beautiful flowing papers! On the bottom flap is a long side pocket embellished with a cute little tag from the sticker collection. Inside the pocket is a cool booklet.

The booklet is decorated with coordinating green seam binding (LOVE that stuff). Excellent place to journal or add some photos.
Close all the magnetic flaps and pull the large matted top load tag.

Pages 8 & 9. More pretty stuff.

Page 8. This page has a top corner pocket that a large matted tag slides into nicely. A journaling place on the bottom is the perfect place to make note of a photo you could place on the back. Pretty green seam binding sets off the page.
The large matted tag from the pocket.

Page 9. This pretty blue and pink page is so delicate and just plain pretty. It is embellished with a delicate lace and pretty coordinating blue seam binding. The base has a top stop with a sweet little booklet. On the bottom, there is two pockets. The top pocket is edged with lace. Inside there are matted long tags. Awesome journaling places.

The matted tags with top pulls from the pockets and the cute little booklet.

The large matted top pull tag from the top load page.

Pages 10 & 11. Ready for more inter-actives?!

Page 10. This page has a narrow side long pocket. I have added the pretty ivory seam binding all tied up in a pretty bow. Inside the pocket are 2 inserts.
The matted tags are nicely sized to accommodate photos easily.

Page 11. This page is full! It starts out with a gate fold technique being held in place with a chipboard piece from the collection that has been magnetized and attached to the page with a pretty glittered brad from the collection.
Slide that magnetic closure down to open....
Open the first 'gates' and on each one there is a bottom stop that holds cool vintage tags.
The vintage tags from the first gates opened
Next set of gates opened and the papers all coordinate. The base page has a pretty side stop that holds 2 small tags with pretty green pulls.
Fold down the flap that is accented with the lace punch along the edge. There is a belly band that holds 3 pretty tags.

So so much space in this album! Such a beautiful collection, love it!

Large matted top pull tag from the page.

Page 12 & Inside of back cover.

Page 12. I love this. The page is papered in a pretty blue pattern and has a belly band and coordinating bottom narrow pocket. They are both decorated with the beautiful pearl lace and a small magnetized booklet is stationary and in place not to be removed.

The contents being held in place with the belly band and bottom pocket. There are two matted tags and a booklet that also has a belly band with a matted tag inside. Lots and lots of space.

The adorable stationary booklet and the inside of it. Make a sweet little private note inside and it stays locked in place with the magnet.

The inside of the back cover and inside of the magnetic side closure flap. Pretty coordinating papers run throughout the inside of the cover making it flow easily.

The inside of the back cover is so darn pretty. A bottom half pocket holds a generous sized matted tag with the vintage cut a part. The space at the bottom again is perfect to note a date or name of a photo you can place on the backside. The pretty pink coordinating seam binding couldn't be more perfect to finish it.

The inside of the magnetic closure flap has a long side stop with a piece of ephemera that has been matted to dress it up. Inside it holds 2 polka dot tags with floral pulls.
