A Twinkle of Sunrise
Reverse Canvas Mini Album
Let me first say, this is a BEAUTIFUL collection!!!! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. This is my Design Team Project for The Rubber Buggy using A Twinkle of Sunrise by Craft O'Clock. I created a reverse canvas album and with the beautiful timeless graphics I decided to use some vintage ladies I found online and printed out on transparencies. This is the album cover, and I was lucky enough to have an antique postcard I used with this pretty lady on it from 1930. I picked it up in some other paper goods at an antique auction this past summer and this post card had been written and sent to the lady whose auction it was. I fussy cut the inside of the 'frame' in the paper and inserted the postcard. I added the pretty black brooch at the top right and also fussy cut another large rose from the paper and pop dotted it up on top of the one on the mounted paper to give more dimension. The graphics in this collection are just plain stunning! This is the back of the album cover....again, the graphics are amazing.

The album opened. This reverse canvas album's finished size is 8 1/2 X 8 (closed of course).
This is the inside cover and the reversed canvas. I added both pics as I was trying to capture the actual colors of the paper and the second photo shows the coloring to be closer. It is more of a mottled sepia with pretty soft flowers. I fussy cut the frame out of the paper and fussy cut several of the flowers to add interest to that frame. I printed this pretty vintage lady on a transparency and she is place so she has dimension. Inside the reverse canvas, I added some cream colored cardstock that I inked in sepia so she would show up better against that inserted background piece. I added the golden heart and key I had in my stash. All the papers I inked with Chat Noir (Black) ink.
This is page 1 showing the first of the major fussy cut side pocket that holds a booklet and a matted 4 x 6 vintage lady photo mat. Whew, that was some serious fussy cutting....but I love how it turned out and it I thought it just needed to be done to highlight the beautiful florals in this collection.
This is the second decorative pocket on page 1 and the pretty lady it holds.
The inserts from the first pretty pocket. I created a booklet with a stop inside to hold more photos and a vintage lady photo mat. She was printed on a transparency then mounted on cream colored cardstock so she would show up then on to black cardstock. Perfect space for a photo or journaling. The expandable pocket would hold several pics.
The insert from the second decorative pocket on page one. She is again on a transparency then on inked cream cardstock then black. I used photo corners also I had in my stash.
The back of pocket one. I added some lacy seam binding to the page.
The back of page one. I added a bit of the black lacy seam binding here as well.
Page 2. Fussy cutting here...carefully as I liked the wispy fronds and wanted to be sure I had them cut out also. I back the fussy cutting with black cardstock on all the pockets to give it strength. This is pocket 1 on page 2.
The inserts from pocket one...a booklet with a pretty stop to hold more pics inside and a matted vintage lady in the cream and black with her transparency mounted.
Page 2 second pocket with insert.
The insert from page 2 pocket 2. A good sized photo mat.
The backside of page 2 with a little black lacy seam binding added.
Inside the back cover showing the reverse canvas. I fussy cut the inside of the frame leaving the flowers and fussy cutting around them also. I think using the reverse side of the canvas allows 'depth' to the overall project and transparencies. I had the vintage butterfly and thought it would go nicely with the collection.
Both pages have large side pockets, so these are the vintage ladies I used to make the photo mats for 5 x 7 pics or journaling. They slide inside those side pockets easily and can be used for either photo mats or journaling.
I hope you enjoyed this creation as it was fun to do and loved using this amazing collection. You can find this collection at: www.TheRubberBuggy.com It is the 'A Twinkle of Sunrise' collection by Craft O'Clock.
